Elemental Alchemy (Qi Gong + Energy Medicine Training) - WATER

  • KULA Muriwai New Zealand (map)

This weekend immersive explores the Element of Water. We dive deep into our watery soma, our emotions, taking us deeper into unchartered territory to open us up to more freedom. This module is about replenishment and REST. And is perfect for our wintery wonderland approaching.

We will look at finding flow and accessing our Jing (deep primal life-force). We will be looking at the properties of Water found in Nature and learning how they manifest in the body. We will tune into the Kidneys and Bladder bringing healing and resourcing as well supporting our emotional body through movement forms and meditations that support the Water Element. This module supports deep replenishment and REST - allowing our bodies to nourish, unwind and be deeply resourced.

It’s not like a straight line to the sea. It twists, turns, bends, and that’s literally what Kidney energy points to. It’s remembering that water finds a way no matter what, there’s always a path to the sea, and we’re meandering through life following the flow. So it points very much to the Dao for me, and especially as I get older, I’m really feeling into that new effortless way, that grace that comes through trusting in life. I think the Kidneys really invite that in.
— Tahnee Taylor

In Daoism, the season of Winter is associated with the element of Water and the Kidneys. The Kidneys are the bedrock of our Yin/Yang energy, a storehouse for our Jing, and govern the regulation of fluids in our body. Of all the seasons, Winter is the most Yin. The beauty to be found in this season comes from allowing space for introspection, reflection, restoration, and the inner alchemy of the Kidneys, transforming fear into wisdom.

We will tune in to what embodying this season looks like; The warming foods to eat, herbs to have on hand, and practices that best support us, both in this season and in this point in time collectively. Dress for the elements, protect your Qi with layers and woolies, observe Mother Nature; And as the sun sets early and rises late, so should we flow with that motion and allow our bodies to rest, and consolidate our essence into Jing.

Elemental Alchemy - Qi Gong + Energy Medicine creates a powerful understanding of our qi (energy) flows. It helps us tap into our intrinsic healing potential for ourselves and for others and to live with optimum vitality. Revitalising our connection to the earth and elementals as well as the heavens and the mystical alchemy alive within us and available for us to tap into anytime.

These weekend immersives can be taken individually or together as a series to become a teacher or for your own depth of practice (there are 10 in each series)

Taken as a series over one or two years you will experience a deep and profound cleansing and rejuvenation of your whole system as we move through the elements (including organs and meridians for each element) and then into the deeper chi flows of the alchemy series.

As part of these immersives and training modules, using Willa's knowledge as a medicine woman, we also tap into plant medicine, tea ceremony and essential oils for each element - using all our senses to unlock powerful healing and rejuvenation.

Elemental Alchemy incorporates classic styles and philosophies with modern bodymind and energy concepts. The approach explores body and qi awareness as a way to deepen into our internal qi flow through movement, stillness, meditation and breath. We open to creative space to allow our essential nature to express itself and bring about transformation. The approach emphasizes the five elements as the foundation of our energy medicine.
The immersives are an ongoing series that participants can enter at any point. The immersives can either be attended individually or as a whole series.

There are ten, 2 day immersives and the overall intention of the program is to introduce Elemental Alchemy as a way to open to a deeper and richer connection to the life force within the human system and within nature. In particular to listen and be aware of the subtle power of your own health and become aware of movements of qi within your body and mind. To build resilience in our systems and create the platform for growth, expansion and awareness.

The immersives will teach the following skills:

* Self reflection

*Stability and groundedness

*Stillness of the body and mind

*Sensitivity to qi (energy/lifeforce)

*Use of intention

*Strength, stamina and flexibility

*Synchronisity of movement, along with an understanding and appreciation of the body's structure, traditional Chinese medical concepts and Taoist philosophy.

For those who want to teach Elemental Alchemy - you must attend all 10 core immersives plus two retreats as well as completing and submitting all homework. This must be completed within 3 consecutive years.
